Practice Summary:
Navigant Consulting's healthcare strategy practice provides objective, practical, results-oriented
assistance to address the business challenges facing healthcare executives and their
organizations
including: Enterprise-wide strategic plans; business plan development and validation; program
and
service line analysis; new market opportunity and strategic positioning assessment; market
research, analysis and forecasting; pricing and reimbursement strategy, design and
implementation;
and physician collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are broadly defined and are expected to increase as quickly as aptitude is
demonstrated. This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon all of the
analytical, creative,
and interpersonal skills essential to effective general strategy consulting. The ability to assume
complete ownership of significant projects while at the same time being a part of and leading a
close
knit team is essential. While close contact with other team members is maintained throughout
projects, Senior Consultants must organize their own tasks and schedules in carrying out
substantial business analyses and delivering high quality, client-ready work. Because Navigant
is committed to developing its practice from within, SC's are expected to contribute to the
evolution
of the firm as well as recruiting. As our clients are often large, complex systems, SC's must
demonstrate considerable poise and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in
the client environment.
Basic Qualifications:
MBA/MHA/MPH preferred
Healthcare provider or fellowship experience and/or education is strongly desired
Previous consulting experience is preferred (strategy consulting experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of and application of healthcare research resources
Understanding of market/financial analysis in context of healthcare provider needs
Strong quantitative skills a must
Must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication and presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
A strategic problem solver
Power point and Excel skills are a must, Access skills desired
Travel (east coast and west coast) is required (approximately 0-35%)
